Radio & League Web Sites Move
The first web site was constructed during the early part of 2000 and was released in April 2000.
This year the league of friends agreed to fund for a paid ISP service which would allow us to provide forms on our site. In addition we needed more space than the free space being offered.
The free site space was under freeserve, but we reviewed a number of alternatives and the radio site and the league site were moved onto hosting accounts by 123.
We were making a number of design changes to the site this year and
depending on when you viewed, you would have seen a number of
versions.
This version from September 2005 was more or less the final version
settled on. We had introduced java menu's at the top of the page for
all navigation, but left a back up on each page with some standard
hyperlinks.
Some of the words and pictures are still used today.
In the window below you can experience the web site as it was at the beginning of September 2005 All the internal links will work if you click on them but the external links have mostly stopped.

Back to TopDomain names.
The first domain names used for the radio when launched in 2000, were free from freeserve but carried the extension "fsnetcouk".
These served their purpose but long term it was not ideal for any development. If we were to leave freeserve we would immediately loose this name.
The domain names were purchased in 2002 and re-directs were provided which directed all traffic for radioheatherwood.org.uk to radioheatherwood fsnetcouk. This continued until 2005 when we were ready to launch the new sites.
The purchase of the domain names would allow us to have our web presence with a permanent address hosted by any company.
In May 2005 the domain names were changed to the 123 hosting account, allowing for the removal of the free space re-direct.
The new addresses were:-
www.radioheatherwood.org.uk & www.lof-heatherwood.org.ukThe league of friends website being changed also at the same time.
