Marathon Fever & Gas Board Raffle
Two fundraising ventures this year were closely linked.
Our Friday presenter Frank Blasi who had previously run the Bracknell half marathon had decided this year he would once again get his customers on his window cleaning round to sponsor him.
The manager of the gas showroom in Bracknell John Tyler was also running in the marathon. The gas board showroom had approached us to donate a Cannon Cooker for a raffle prize to raise money for the League of friends.
The gas board had once before donated a cooker for the league to Raffle.
This year South Hill Park arranged a charity fundraising day with the option for charity stalls to set up on the field and this opportunity was used to sell tickets for the cooker and also raise the profile of the radio service.
