1995 a year which was packed full of events and deeds which generated a lot of interest in the radio. Radio Heatherwood was out in the community publicizing it's services.
This page details some of those events which generated copy in the local papers and also generated new promotional materials and feedback from our listeners.
A new leaflet was distributed this year with the radio's and replaced the previously blue laminated notice. This detailed to listeners how they could obtain new batteries and how they could sponsor a radio
Throughout the year the loan radio service continued to receive donations to sponsor loan radio's. A number of radio's this year were sponsored in memory of the forget-me-not club
A milestone was reached this year as we surpassed the 179th loan radio.
by the end of the year the total has risen to 166 radios on the wards.
The Radio Heatherwood supporters group continued to flourish with eight day trips organised by the Manager Dave Smith.
This year included a summer holiday to Ilfracombe, and a winter break in Tenby.
The charity buzz this year spent the day on a Dorset and East Devon Tour and raised much needed funds for the radio service.
The final trip of the year was a trip to lakeside shopping centre for some Christmas shopping.
The grand draw still the essential fundraiser for the station once again was the event for the late summer. All presenters played a part in ensuring tickets were sold at the hospital as well as high street venues.
The Grand draw always finished with a charity night and this year is was held at the Cranbourne Tower Ascot
In 1995 the Grand draw outside ticket venues were captured on camera as station secretary PJ was on hand to capture the ticket selling.
Charity Stall 8/4/95
The charity stall on Saturday 8th April realised a total this year of £133. Last years total was £217 so we are down on the previous year.
A smaller amount of people are moving through the market this is a reflection of the change in shopping habits.
Our thanks go out to all those presenters who once again came along to help man/woman the stall.

Each year the Grand Draw would be launched at the end of June and local newspapers were sent press releases detailing the years prize sponsors and the location of ticket sales.
Local Press do us proud by carrying information on our major fundraising venture.
One of the most important of the outside ticket selling venues.
Waitrose Sunningdale always produced good results. Bruce And Sue provide their time.
