The rhapsody wi-fi trial produces the results of the first eight months of the service.
The wi-fi service is making patients stay in ward 4 more pleasant.
Patients luckily enough to be in ward 4 elective orthopaedic surgery have access to the wi-fi music email and internet services.
The ward has five internet radios on the ward for patients without their mobiles.
The service has been enhanced recently with the introduction of the what's playing information which is displayed on their devices detailing the artist and song information.
The collected log-on data shows the service is being utilised by patients and staff.

The wi-fi service goes from strength to strength attracting more users.
Patients luckily enough to be in ward 4 elective orthopaedic surgery have access to the wi-fi music service and their email and internet services.
Presenters on Mondays and Saturdays visit the ward to make patients aware of the service and also help them to log in into the rhapsody wi-fi.

The radio service provided by the bedhead system becomes faulty during March.
The impending closure of ward 8 by the trust seals the fate of the bedhead services as no attempt is made to effect a repair.
The radio volunteers are left with a station without an audience.
All live sessions are suspended, Rhapsody the automated music service provides a 24 hour service which can still be received via the old stethoscope system in the EMI unit and also can be heard on the Wi-fi service to ward 4.

In late 2009 the league of friends radio service was advised that the building which it occupied would be part of the site which was no longer required in addition as the hospital made cuts to services, the radio service decided to suspend all recruitment of volunteers until a firm decision as to what service or facilities would be available.
The league has reviewed it's position on new volunteers and cannot see any change from it's earlier decision.
Volunteer recruitment is still suspended until further notice.
2013 was a very busy year for the station management and as the year unfolded there was much to do and organise
