2016 Summary of Events Part 4

The months of July and August photo's of the studio complex and dismantling starts with the removal of the library and studio two.

Stories and snippets of information taken from the staff newsletter and from behind the scenes.

  1. 2ndStudio’s photographed prior to dismantling of studio 2.
    On the 2nd 5th and 9th of July The studio's are captured on film in video and still, prior to work commencing on dismantling.

  5. 3rdArchive boxes ordered.
    It is decided the record library including cd's and singles should be packed in cardboard archive boxes for easier disposal.
  6. 6thAsset list compiled.
    Every item is logged with the value at time of purchase.
  7. 27thTwitter/Email.
    The PC from studio two is used in production area to monitor email, twitter and record studio1 should we need to go live.
  8. 27thLogging of studio recordings starts.
    In storage is cd's recorded as part of the requirement to hold station output for 42 days in case of complaint. These were just identified with month night and year. They were from 2004 up until the end of 2014. It was decided the logging of the studio output from each night to be catalogued to identify presenters and add info to radio archive. 244 cdr discs will need to be catalogued.
  9. This will be a valuable audio record of the hospital radio.

August 2016

August

  1. 1stLeague of Friends Quarterly meeting,(Hospital rep didn’t attend).
    David informed the league the radio station is insured for £58,000 but without premises is only worth a fraction of the cost.
  2. The league discussed the letter from the trust regarding the lease. This letter was not received until the 21st June. Despite attempts to arrange a meeting they have not responded.
  3. A demonstration of the internet stream was shown to members who were not in attendance at the previous meeting. Links to the new service would be posted to members to allow them to listen and view.
  4. Work has already commenced on the disposal of the vinyl library and equipment no longer needed. An associate of David has agreed to help with the disposal and will secure the best funds he can.Due to the age of the equipment i.e. the mixers, which are already thirty years old they would not survive storage and they would be disposed of.
  5. Text from the minutes of the league meeting.
  6. 3rdLogging of studio recordings.
    Logs 2015-2009 are completed.
  7. 6thcd’s and singles removed from studio.
    All the CD’s and singles and balance of albums are removed from studio library.
  8. 11thPicture frames removal.
    All the old pictures in frames around the reception are removed from the wall.
  9. 13thStudio 2 dismantled.
    All the equipment in studio two is removed for disposal.
  10. 13thEmail from Trust league rep.
    “I was sad to see from the minutes of your last meeting that the Trust has decided not to renew the lease for the radio at Heatherwood Hospital and you are starting to dismantle the radio and equipment. This seems a great shame and you must be devastated after all the work you have put into the radio at the hospital”.
  11. 22ndStudio 2 Kit Gone.
    All the studio 2 kit is removed from studio never to return.
  12. 27thStorage Cupboard.
    Cupboard and spare engineering kit removed.
