The radio service has given it's Rhapsody Wi-fi web sites a makeover.
This month visitors to the rhapsody web site will notice an improvement.
The menu system and layout has been changed to allow for faster download time and ease of use.
In addition to the internet version of Rhapsody changing, patients in ward 4 will also notice the difference to the intranet version which allows them access to Radio Heatherwood's 24 hour music service.

The radio service has opened a channel on you tube for all it's history video's.
This month sees the launch of the Radio Heatherwood channel on YouTube.
All videos can now be streamed from you tube and include the useful video's for i-phone users using our rhapsody Wi-fi service.
As part of the improvements for the radio station presence on the internet, these video's on you tube will be of a higher quality and include soundtracks.

The radio service has posted a new mobile friendly version of it's history site.
The changing method to view web pages has prompted this change. Over 1900 pictures, 88 videos and over 152 pages capture the past of a dearly loved radio station.
All videos can now be streamed to mobile devices.

The league of Friends has just moved it's on-line shopping portal to easy fundraising.
Offering access to over 2700 retailers, shopping on-line will offer some fantastic discounts and also raise funds for the League of Friends.
An information page with video is available detailing how to use and sign up as a supporter.

Radio Heatherwood makes sending messages to the station easier with the addition of a twitter account.
The account will supplement the facebook page and will allow a quicker and easier method of contacting the radio station or commenting on the radio service available.
The radio station also has a twitter account for it's rhapsody Wi-fi service. This account is for all aspects of the Wi-fi service on Heatherwood's ward 4.

Three new pages added to the history site details a tough year for the radio station and it's volunteers.

New Program Schedule
The radio staff have been busy revising the program schedule for it's Rhapsody Service.
Launched today 4th January, the all new program schedule will commence. Not since the introduction of the 24 hour service in 2003 has there been a change to the music schedule and programs.
More emphasis has been given to records from the 1960's to the 2000's. Patients able to listen, will have a more up to date choice of music.

In 2012 the radio staff along with finance from the league of friends installed a Wi-fi service into ward 4 at Heatherwood.
At the beginning of 2013 the service was brought into service and data was collected on it's usage.
The end of year results prove the service is well used and has become a boon to the patients and staff of ward 4.
Our thanks go out to the league of friends for believing in the project and also those members of staff on ward 4 who have helped us promote the service.
Wi-fi 2013 DataVolunteer Recruitment
In late 2009 the league of friends radio service was advised that the building which it occupied would be part of the site which was no longer required in addition as the hospital made cuts to services, the radio service decided to suspend all recruitment of volunteers until a firm decision as to what service or facilities would be available.
The league has reviewed it's position on new volunteers and cannot see any change from it's earlier decision.
Volunteer recruitment is still suspended until further notice.
