Dear Roger and All I am home now, but I am writing to thankyou all for playing the records for me, to cheer me up. I did appreciate them. Would you use the enclosed to buy radios for the ward?

Telephone Request( feed-back )
On Saturday 13th February I arrived to find a message had been left on the answer machine from Friday asking if we could play a request for Mo on ward 5 who had just had a back operation. The caller Kelly didn’t know the artist for the song but proceeded to sing it down the Phone. “The Song Get Up and Boogie “ produced a smile as we proceeded to play the answer machine message during the request show asking listeners if they recognised the mystery voice.
Power Up
The new style radios have been added to ward 4 on Saturday 13th February and this has signalled the arrival of the AA type batteries. Adverts for the new batteries produced, invite you to power up with Radio Heatherwood. The current purchase price from our suppliers allows us to realise a small profit for the radio. This will offset repair costs for the loan radio service.
A new supplier for the batteries allows us to promote the batteries not only for loan radios but also for personal sales to staff members etc.
The battery log shows provision for AA’s or pp3’s to be listed. If you sell to staff or members of the public these should be listed as others in the log.
The station said goodbye to Belinda Rolfe Saturday 20/3. Belinda wants her freedom as a single person.

Keep up the Good work.
Waitrose Sunningdale
This years venue at Sunningdale was as ever, eventful at the end of the day when rain stopped play. This didn’t stop the punters and a figure of £147.60 was raised, up twenty pounds on the previous year. A big thankyou to all those who were in attendance.
Bracknell Bandstand
This years bandstand got off to a hectic start even before we laid the goods out, a good day the weather was fine and Roger, Mathew Bruce , Dave and PJ made it a success £33 on tickets and £233 20 on bric-a-brac.
There is no charity night this year as it becomes impossible to secure a venue. The grand draw takes place at the radio studio.
Diary of a Winner
It’s over, the fifteenth Grand Draw has come to a close.
The highlight of the draw has got to be draw night and Alan Holder winning yet again. This time a teddy bear finds a new home. Word has it Carol has had a teddy bear for some years.( Nice one Al ).
Only one Prize winner needed to be phoned this year as all the winners were able to be contacted by friends of presenters or they were in the phone book.
The winner of the ice skating tickets lived somewhere in the Maidenhead exchange area. A call to them to find out their address meets with the response “ Oh no we are not into that, give it to someone else “. It never ceases to amaze me the kind of response you get.

Maintenance
In January 1999 a revue of the loan radio's took place with the pending introduction of new style radio's a survey was conducted on the radio's.
On the wards 223 had been issued.
36 were listed as missing.
In 1995 23 units were replaced.
In 1996 20 units were replaced.
In 1997 3 units were replaced.
In 1998 5 units were replaced.
Sponsors were still supporting the service and most weekends the station engineer could be found mending or creating new units for the wards.
The reality of the service, if we didn't have a radio in a locker then patients were without any kind of entertainment.
Just Smile
Trying to capture what went on when the mugs were delivered, one of the teams captured one lucky winner.
This winner was later added to the front page of the ward booklet and also the front page of the LPAM project folder.
